The Cicciarello (Mediterranean sand eel) is a species of blue fish that reaches a maximum length of about 15 cm.
In the local gastronomy, the Cicciarello is eaten after having been slightly dried in the sun, fried, marinated with vinegar and salt and stored in traditional arbanelle (glass jars with hermetic cap).
The largest fishing centre and cycling facility is located in Noli, a town that has been recognized as a Slow Food Presidium.
