It was 1967 when, Carlo Marcello Rietmann, a journalist and literary critic, conceived, almost for fun, the Festival, on a quiet midnight summer refreshed by the pleasant sea breeze and the aromas of the typical Ligurian vegetation.
Behind the viewer, the breathtaking view of the Ligurian coast, facing the charming scenery of the Church of Sant’Agostino, above the starry sky crowned by the roofs of ancient stone buildings.
Such an exceptional natural scenery has given birth to and has guarded a unique event, growing year after year, billboard after billboard: here the Italian Gothe has been staged, directors and actors then become great protagonists of the national scene blossomed, shows that left an indelible mark were conceived. Visiting Verezzi is like entering a natural theatres, immersed in the warm colours of Liguria and perched by the subtle scents of Mediterranean vegetation.
