One of the most beautiful villages of Italy is the most interesting of the historical nucleuses of Finale Ligure; Built by Henry II, it was entirely surrounded by walls to protect it from enemy attacks. The main palaces were built between the XV and XVII Centuries, in the late Romanesque and Renaissance style, which are grafted inside the main square, G. Garibaldi, formerly known as “Square of the Herbs”, which was and still is the centre of business and everyday life activities of the village. Inside the walls, there are two monastic complexes: the collegiate Church of S. Biagio (St Blaise) and S. Caterina (St Catherine), which are of particular value, thanks to important works of art preserved in them. Visit the Archaeological Museum, an important testimony to the past of the place.
