The Monks’ Palace was acquired by the monks in 1607. It was used by them as accommodation during the frequent visits to Seborga. Today it is a private house. The building has a large hall with a slate fireplace at the entrance, on which there is a slab with the coat of arms of the Cardinal of Vendôme and the lilies of France, probably sculpted by the monks in 1700. The building is important because from 1666 to 1687 it was a mint where the local coins called Luigini were coined. This currency circulated only in the village, called a Principality.
