The feast of the Assumption has solemnly been celebrated in Pietra Ligure since 1858, when Priest Giovanni Bado commissioned the construction of the Sanctuary to Antonio Brilla, a sculptor of Savona.
Along the streets of the village you can find stalls of all kinds; While in the evening the solemn Mass is celebrated by the bishop, who then passes it in procession with the town confraternities and the effigy of Our Lady.
At the end of the procession, at the end of the festive day, the pier is made a rich pyrotechnic show on the sea.
