Since 1997, the Ethnographic Museum of the Val Varatella has organized the event: Itinerary of the Nativity Scenes. Toirano with the village and its districts become the scenario of about 150 installations made by residents and artists. The event was proposed and organized with the intention of resuming a long-forgotten tradition, characteristic of the early twentieth century.
Every year, maps are available at the museum, in the churches and in the local bars, showing the locations of the nativity scenes. Such nativity scenes do not want to compete with each other, but they only want to represent the artistic-devotional skills of those who try to represent the sacred scene.
