A sweet with a really original look, easy to prepare. A valid alternative to the traditional apple pie that will leave adult and young guests open-mouthed!
4 apples
2 egg yolks
100 g of flour
50 g of sugar
50 g of butter
1 orange peel
Peach jam
Sift together white flour, sugar and a pinch of salt. Add the two egg yolks, the softened butter and the grated orange peel. Knead everything until it forms a soft and elastic dough.
Shape a ball and leave it to rest for at least half an hour covered with a damp cloth. Roll the dough with the aid of a rolling pin, until it reaches a rather squared shape. Divide the short pastry dough in four parts.
Peel and remove the core from the apples, remembering to fill the central part where the core was with peach jam. Wrap the apples with the dough, and lightly compress the final end of the dough, into the recess of the stalk. Bake for about 30 minutes at 170 °C in a preheated oven. Serve lukewarm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream to get an even more delicious dessert!
