Cultivar of local origin cultivated mainly in the north-eastern part of Valle Sturla. The plant produces hazelnuts of fairly high average weight, the shape is elongated with a good yield after shelling. The harvesting is carried out manually. There are traditional crafts related to the cultivation of hazelnuts, for example in the Municipality of Mezzanego the traditional “reste” (hazelnut necklaces) were made. Hazelnuts are used both for the production of sweets and for the renowned hazelnut sauce, creamy and with a delicate taste, ideal for flavoring lean-meat ravioli and different types of pasta.
