The church of Saint Lawrence the Old is a building of medieval origins, positioned on a cliff overlooking the sea, on an ancient path that led from Varigotti to Noli. Probably seat of an oriental Cenobitic nucleus, it passed to the order of the Benedictines in the eighth century, becoming parish church of Varigotti up to the sixteenth century.
The church, with a rectangular plan, underwent restoration works in the 1600s. Inside, it is possible to admire numerous finds from the imperial and early medieval periods.
