MTB Ring of Triora

A particularly challenging ring, which exceeds 2000 meters in altitude, but which repays with a breathtaking view of the Maritime Alps.
After the ascent from Triora to Passo della Guardia, partly paved and then dirt, you arrive on the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri (High Trail of Ligurian Mounts). On the left, you pass the Collardente tunnel from outside. After the tunnel, the road divides into two trails, and it continues until you reach Bassa di Sanson; shortly after you leave the main road to follow the signs of the Alta Via, to the right, until you reach a fork leading to the Balcone di Marta (Balcony of Marta), a beautiful round summit, overlooking all the Maritime Alps.
From the base, a long descent on a large dirt road begins. It is not to be taken lightly, due to the bumpy dirt terrain and the possible vehicles that can be encountered.
This leads to Colla Melosa, where the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) refuge of Bordighera is located: excellent for stopping and refilling your water bottle.
When you restart the trail, you face a stretch of asphalt road, and then you continue in the woods that with technical features brings you on the road at a fork.
You cross the road and go along a trail that in part runs along it, reaching a meadow with a small countryside church.
Another short stretch on asphalt and then on numerous technical sections up and down: the last 500 meters in altitude are really challenging and do not allow distraction!
Overall, exceptional alpine panorama in the upper part and extreme off road with a difference in altitude of one thousand meters.
