Mount Penna’s Ring

An excursion lasting a couple of hours, suitable for those who do not suffer from vertigo, being the part closest to the peak slightly exposed.
It is characterized by the beautiful Conca della Nave (characteristic tectonic structure with the shape of a ship’s hull), by the steep north face of Mount Penna, which offers an exciting and panoramic climb, and by a splendid beech wood along the southern slope.
The trail should preferably be attacked in late summer or autumn, when the forest becomes yellow thanks to beech leaves.
At Passo dell’Incisa, you can decide to lengthen the trail by taking the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri (High Trail of Ligurian Mounts) up to the Passo della Spingarda or to Pratomollo Refuge, a meadow oasis rich in botanical peculiarities.
