Taking as a starting point the little square where the bus terminal is located, you head east until you reach the wooden sign with the indications for Colle Termini.
After the “outskirts” of the village, in a few minutes you reach the real starting point of the mule track.
We proceed among abandoned fields and then in the typically Mediterranean wood, characterized by pines, holm oaks and downy oaks. The cobblestone pavement, almost always present with massive and regular blocks, is bordered at the edges by the Mediterranean vegetation of arboreal heather and strawberry tree. On the ground, the abundant moss testifies the humidity and the freshness of this side. As you go up, the landscape becomes wider, overlooking Baiardo.
The mule track approaches the ridge and goes beyond it in several places. The passage of the slope is marked each time by the change of vegetation: to the north the mixed forest of evergreens and deciduous trees, heather, strawberry tree, moss, holly; to the south, the shining scrub of holm-oaks and brooms … In the distance the sea.
You reach the church of Saint Pancras, an ideal resting place. Now you must tackle the most challenging part of the entire trail, as the climb that leads to Colle Termini becomes steeper.
