The fortress-church of Saint Peter is the most significant and symbolic monument of the village of Lingueglietta. Unique building of its kind, turned into a fortress for defensive reasons in medieval times, during the period of pirate raids, very frequent in Western Liguria. Inside this fortress-church, a religious building from the late Middle Ages and military architecture from the 16th century merge into a single building. The interior shows a single nave and preserves the original slab flooring. The work related to the fortification led to the closure of the entrance on the side, the original roof was replaced and the superior vault was used as a lookout terrace surrounded by high walls and loopholes. Recently, it has been restored thanks to the intervention of public and private funds.
