Cairo medievale is probably the most anticipated and attended event of the entire Val Bormida.
Five days of wine and food stalls where you can find the typical products of the valley, from the typical tire, typical of Cairo, to the lisotti; from bruschetta bread to stuffed bowls and other typical sweets.
All accompanied by good music in medieval style, magic shows, country-style games; costume shows in medieval clothes and, at the end of the event, a fireworks show on the night of St Lawrence. At the end of the Cairo Medieval celebrations, on August 10, Cairo Montenotte celebrates Saint Lawrence, Saint of the village.
The day begins with the solemn Mass and continues with the procession among the streets of the village.
At the end of the celebrations, the traditional fireworks show on the banks of the Bormida River attracts not only residents of the area, but also many tourists.
