The main characteristic of the apricot of Valleggia is the very thin skin, of a pale orange colour, dotted with tiny reddish spots. Smaller than other apricot qualities, they are characterized by a very intense flavour. The harvest focuses between late June and early July. The production of the apricot of Valleggia is concentrated today in the coastal area, between Varazze and Albenga, up to 300 meters above sea level. Producers are only responsible for small-scale companies that harvest and select the best quality fruits.
